Reading Room
(Industrial Engineering Building)
Eligible users include:
- Students, researchers, faculty members, and TAB staff of the University
- Students, researchers, and faculty members of the Universities of Roma La Sapienza, Roma Tre, and Foro Italico (“Biblioteche insieme” agreement)
To reserve
- a seat in the Reading Room (only 4-seat tables can be reserved; all other seats are freely accessible);
- one of the two computer workstations available in the Reading Room for accessing databases.
Group Study Room
(Information Engineering Building)
The service is reserved exclusively for:
- Students, researchers, faculty members, and TAB staff of the University
To reserve
- the entire Group Study Room (for groups of 2 to a maximum of 8 people)
Reservations must be made via Affluences, either by downloading the app on iPhone/iPad or Android smartphone/tablet, or directly through a web browser on a PC.
To log in to Affluences, users must use their institutional email address (@uniroma2.eu, @uniroma2.it, @uniroma1.it, @uniroma3.it, @uniroma4.it) as their credentials.
Anyone who has made a reservation and can no longer attend the library is kindly asked to cancel it via the same app, so that the vacated seat can be made available to other users.
Reservations must always be validated via QR code at the reception desk.
How to Book a Seat
How to Book a Seat or a Computer in the Reading Room
For the Reading Room and the two computer workstations (available from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), users can choose from different daily time slots, available on an hourly basis from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- The minimum booking duration is 1 hour, and users may reserve up to a maximum of 6 hours in a single selection;
- If additional time slots are needed on the same day, users may make further bookings (provided that seats are still available);
- Reservations can be cancelled independently via the app up to one minute before the scheduled start time, so that the seat can be made available to another user;
- If the reservation is not validated, it will be automatically cancelled after the first 30 minutes;
- If you need to leave the library early, you can shorten your reservation via the app;
- Reservations can be made up to 2 days in advance;
- A reservation is not the same as validation. Upon arrival at the library, users must validate their booking by scanning the QR code displayed at the entrance of the room.
Booking the Group Study Room (University users only)
For the group study room (open from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.), users can choose between two daily time slots (9:15–11:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.–1:15 p.m.) or a single full slot (9:15 a.m.–1:15 p.m.). Only one reservation is required for the entire group (2 to 8 people):
- The minimum booking duration is 2 hours, and users may reserve up to a maximum of 4 hours in a single selection;
- Reservations can be cancelled independently via the app up to one minute before the scheduled start time, so that the seat can be made available to another user;
- If the reservation is not validated, it will be automatically cancelled after the first 30 minutes;
