Access policies
tudents and academic staff enrolled at the university, as well as those from partner universities, can consult the UNI standards issued by the Italian National Unification in the library.
Users must access the standards through a designated computer station provided by the library. The room staff will assist with the research and prepare the necessary files for consultation. Users are not permitted to access the UNI portal independently.
To find out the availability in advance, we recommend sending an email to our address with the details of the request. Alternatively, you can visit the library and ask the reading room staff.
If an international (ISO) or EU (EN) standard has also been adopted as a national standard, it will be designated with the initials UNI ISO, UNI EN, or UNI EN ISO, respectively. All standards that include the acronym “UNI” can be accessed from the dedicated workstation in the Engineering Area Library.
The Italian National Unification is a private, non-profit association that carries out standardization activities in the industrial, commercial, and tertiary sectors, excluding the electrical and electrotechnical sectors, which fall under the competence of CEI.
The four main areas of intervention for UNI are:
- Consumer products and materials
- Construction
- Enterprise and society
- Mechanics
UNI standards should be distinguished from other standards:
- EN: standards developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) at the European level
- ISO: standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) at the international level
