On-Site Consultation of Journals and Books
The following users are allowed to consult printed journals and books available in the Library:
🔴 Students, researchers, faculty members, and TAB staff of the University
🟠 Students, researchers, and faculty members of the Universities of Roma La Sapienza, Roma Tre, and Foro Italico
Users must identify themselves by presenting a valid identification document and proof of their affiliation with the respective partner university.
🟢 External users (not affiliated with the University or the above-mentioned institutions), at the Library’s discretion
To be admitted for consultation, external users must send an email to the Library, specifying the titles of the books and/or journals they wish to consult. This will allow the Library to schedule the visit and define the access conditions.
All users are allowed to make reproductions using personal devices, subject to staff authorization and in compliance with current regulations and the Library’s specific guidelines.
On-Site Consultation of Electronic Resources
The following users are allowed to consult electronic resources subscribed to by the Library:
🔴 Students, researchers, faculty members, and TAB staff of the University
University users can access electronic resources through two computer stations provided by the Library or via the University’s Wi-Fi network on their personal devices. Access to the computer stations requires authentication using Delphi/Horde credentials, subject to authorization from the library staff and in compliance with the Library’s regulations.
🟠 Students, researchers, and faculty members of the Universities of Roma La Sapienza, Roma Tre, and Foro Italico
Access to electronic resources is granted both through the library’s two computer stations and via personal devices connected to the university’s Wi-Fi network using Eduroam credentials. To access the library’s computer stations, users must request credentials from the staff in the reading room.

Loan Service
The following users are eligible for borrowing:
🔴 Students (regularly enrolled), researchers, faculty members, and TAB staff of the University
🟠 Students, researchers, and faculty members of the Universities of Roma La Sapienza, Roma Tre, and Foro Italico
To access the local loan service via ALMA for the first time, users from other universities must visit the Library between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and present valid documentation proving their affiliation with a partner university. Registration is valid for 12 months and can be renewed.
Loans can be requested and collected from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, but returns are allowed until 8:00 PM. The loan service is strictly personal and must be requested in person by the user at the Library. For further details, please refer to the Library’s loan regulations.

MLOL (Digital loan)
All institutional users can access digital resources via the MLOL platform, thanks to an agreement established by the University with the Castelli Romani Library System Consortium:
- Newspapers (Corriere della Sera, Sole 24 Ore, etc.)
- Ebooks (mainly fiction)
- Audiobooks
To access the service, connect to the MLOL portal and authenticate using your institutional credentials. For more information about the service, please refer to the appropriate page on the University website.

Metropolitan interlibrary loan service (PIM)
The PIM Metropolitan Interlibrary Loan Service provides members of the academic community with free access to interlibrary loans of works owned by the Libraries of the Castelli Romani System Consortium and the Library System of Rome Capital.
It is advisable to verify the actual availability of the desired volume in the catalogs of partner institutions before making a request:

Requests should be submitted by completing the appropriate online form; it is advisable to indicate the Engineering Library as the reference library.

Library Regulations
📷 Photoreproduction policy
Users are permitted to create digital reproductions of documents for their own consultation using personal devices such as smartphones and tablets.
- for study purposes only;
- subject to the approval of the library staff;
- subject to preservation conditions and compliance with current copyright legislation.
Please note that according to italian law no. 248/2000 on copyright, reproduction is permitted within the limits of 15% of volumes or issues of periodicals available on the market.

How to access the service
- Two workstations are provided for consulting catalogs and online databases;
- Workstations may only be used for study and research purposes;
- The service is free and available exclusively to institutional users;
- Before using the workstation, users must obtain authorization from the library staff;
- To access the workstation, the user must enter their institutional credentials;
- The service is available to one person per workstation for a maximum of two hours;
- The user must keep the workstation for the entire search;
- You are permitted to save articles and other bibliographic materials on a USB stick;
- The library staff ensures that users receive basic assistance, taking into account other service requirements.
Obligations and penalties
- The use of the internet is prohibited outside of database and catalogue consultations;
- Any malfunctions must be reported to the responsible staff members;
- Only bibliographic materials can be downloaded and saved;
- The user is civilly and criminally liable for their use of the Internet service;
- The user is responsible for compensating for any damage to your equipment, software, or configurations;
- Failure to comply with the obligations outlined in these regulations may result in appropriate consequences.:
– Interruption of the session;
– suspension or exclusion from access to the service;
– formal reporting.
📚 Loan policy
- Up to three volumes may be requested for loan at a time;
- The loan lasts for 30 days and can be renewed for 30 additional days only if the work has not been booked by other users;
- To request an extension, visit the Library or send an email by 1:00 PM the day before the loan deadline.;
- If the library is closed when the loan expires, the deadline will be extended to the day it reopens;
- The following publications cannot be borrowed:
– journals and degree theses;
– rare and valuable volumes;
– any other publication for which the Library staff determines that borrowing should be restricted; - It is strictly prohibited to lend out items that were received on loan to others;
- Late returns of books will result in a suspension equal to the delay period;
- Failure to return items will result in exclusion from borrowing privileges;
- In case of loss or damage to borrowed books, the user must purchase a replacement copy and deliver it to the library.
